A visit to The Three Sisters

Ahhh, The Three Sisters. For some reason, the Three Sisters always feels like home to me. I’m not sure why. I’ve never lived ‘close’ to them. My parents live at the base of the Blue Mountains and thinking about it, the 3 sisters are closer than Sydney City is. The Blue Mountains is a really beautiful and special place and i’ll use any excuse to visit. It was hard getting a good portrait picture due to the sun glare. My boyfriend and I headed up on Good Friday, which was probably a bad idea due to the insane amount of people there. We headed over to Scenic World because I’ve…

Event – Charlie & the Chocolate Factory

August 15th, 2019 Yep, I’m still catching up on old shenanigans. This time it’s all about Charlie & the Chocolate Factory – The New Musical. At the last minute, my BFF Mallory invited me as her plus one to the opening night (read her review here). I quickly threw together a quirky Wonka-esque outfit and ran out the door. Apparently, I’m a bad nut 🙁 I really enjoyed the show, I liked how they modernised all the ‘winners’ characters. It was nice seeing a more diverse cast. It’s definitely something the kids would love as I feel that’s who it’s aimed at, but it was also quite long. It made…

    Event – My 33rd Birthday!

June 7th 2019 Wow, this was over a year ago! To think, I’m now 34 and spent this birthday in lockdown. I believe that’s how most Australians have spent their birthday this year! I decided to spoil myself for my birthday. M and I had already started to plan what I was going to do for my birthday before he passed, but I didn’t feel right doing any of that, so I decided to just let myself go and have as much fun as I could! I booked a hotel in the city for two nights! Melbourne is full of amazing places to stay but I decided on the Rendezvous…

    NYX x Miss Fame Masterclass

March 9th, 2019 Let me tell you something. Grief brain is real. So many months are fuzzy. I have a pretty bad memory to begin with, but add in grief and I’ve lost whole chunks of time. My memory of this event isn’t the best, so this will be more graphics than text. I adddore Miss Fame. Weirdly enough, I have never seen an episode of Drag Race. I’d always meant to watch it but it was never available anywhere I could watch. Trying to think back, I don’t exactly remember where I first found out about them, but I did and I was enamoured. NYX announced that they were…

Myself, my grief, Neil Gaiman, Amanda Palmer & the Bushfire Event.

Amanda Palmer knows a thing or two about grief. She’s not one to shy away from it, she lets it if flow from her in any creative way possible. It’s something that I appreciated but had not really connected with until these past 13 months. I love Amanda. I wrote a post about my love of her 9 years ago on this here blog. I’ve seen her numerous times since, including the absolutly heavenly experience of seeing The Dresden Dolls live. It’s up there as one of my all time favourite gigs. Amanda and Brian just make music magic together. I couldn’t afford to go to her recent tour, she…
