Still alive!

Wahey, sorry for dropping off the radar a bit. Let’s just say i’ve been a bit over whelmed and down in the dumps, what with the whole broken foot thing. So, what’s new? Well, Tonka is here! He arrived last Tuesday and settled in no problems.  It’s nice having his company as i’ve been pretty much confined to bed.

The cast came off! YAY! I went back to the hospital last Wednesday, and I just have to say, I’m pretty impressed with Napean hospital! I had x-rays, a good talk with an orthopedic surgeon and then got fitted with a boot, all within an hour. Plus they have volunteers all around the hospitals that will show you where you have to go and also ferry you around in a wheel chair! So no operation as of yet, the Doctor basically said ‘Some people heal fast, some slow, and some not at all, and those that don’t heal, need an operation”. I have to go back in another 6 weeks (hopefully to a Melbourne specialist) for more x-rays to see how it’s healing.

I managed to get out today! I was going a bit stir crazy being cooped up at ‘home’. I had to go to the doctors and then I wandered around the shops a little. Tomorrow was the day I was supposed to start putting weight on it, but I feel like I did pretty well today. Boy does it hurt though. I didn’t realise how much a fracture could hurt. The best was I can describe the most prominent pain is that it feels like someone has inserted a razor blade in my foot.

I binge watched all 3 seasons of Orphan Black and caught up on a lot of sleep. I’ve been visiting online stores and making wishlists of items I can’t afford. I only packed a couple of ‘good’ dresses for the trip so I had to visit Best & Less to pick up some nighties, which I’ve basically been living in. Thankfully with the boot, it’s much easier to shower.

What’s new with you?
