XL in Tasmania – Tasman Island Cruise

My parents fell in love with Tasmania when they visited, and pretty much demanded that whilst I was there, I go on the Tasman Island Cruise. They loved it, and seeing as I don’t drive, it was a nice way to see more of Hobart and the surrounds. In fact they paid for us to go on it as a birthday/christmas present! The day started up and early. We had to meet at the docks at 7:45am. It was coooold. Winter in Tasmania, right on the wharf, that early. Golly, it was cold! We met our bus tour guide and other passengers and were on our way. Tasmans Arch Tasmania…

    XL in Tasmania – Seals!

Animals are everything to me, I love them all, and i’m pretty certain I like them more then most humans. So, i’m always excited when I get to see animals, especially ones that you don’t see all that often, especially ones in the wild. I didn’t know what to expect as far as animals in Hobart, but I wasn’t disappointed! I arrived in Hobart late Sunday night, and the next day, took a walk from where I was staying to Salamanca. This is where the British sent the worst of their criminals, or re-peat offenders who didn’t learn their lesson. It opened in 1833! This, the largest building, was originally the flour mill & granary, then later turned into the Penitentiary. The bottom 2 floors held 136 cells for ‘prisoners of bad character’ and the top 2 floors openly…

Top 3 places to eat in Hobart.

03 – Jack Greene We didn’t actually eat a main meal, because we were so full on all the other food we’d been eating, but golly the mains looked good! We had the polenta crusted duck & wasabi cheddar arancini balls with a spiced plum dipping sauce and Tempura Huon valley mushrooms with plum & ginger dipping sauce. Seriously, the best mushrooms i’ve had in ages. It was quite crowded but had a great vibe. We sat upstairs in front of a live fire with a masculine woodland library feel. WHERE: 49 salamanca place, Hobart, Tas, 7000 02 – AWU Delicious Chinese I popped in here on the Sunday I arrived and…
