The Darling Den – Living Room / Kitchen / Office

I’m starting to freak out. In 2 weeks we get the keys to the new place, and I feel like I have 10972310973 things to do. In my head, i’ve been trying to figure out how i’m going to organise everything. How will I fit everything? What do I need to buy? What kind of lounge do I need? Will the bench in the kitchen move? As a refresher, you can see the room I’m talking about in this post HERE. In the main room I need to fit the kitchen area, a full fridge, and storage space for food/cookware. I need a lounge, a place to put my TV,…

The Darling Den – Better pictures of it all!

On Saturday, we went back to our new house to get some measurements and so my sister could see first hand the area that we will be working with. My sister and I have a fair amount in common and one of those our huge love of interior designs (We both wish we could do a course in it!). While I was there, I took some pictures of all of my area, and thought i’d show them here as they show off my area better. Above is the door that leads into my parents section of the house. The Darling Den – My Bedroom!

The power of dodgy photoshop! Above is a little mock up of how I DREAM my bedroom shall look. This is what the listing picture looks like. My main colours will be white, black and silver. I’ve been debating between pink or aqua accent colours. The far wall will be a feature black & white striped wall, with a super huge photo of Frodo and I. The rest will be white. I’m going to see about silver paint to do the trimmings. I’m not sure what will be happening with the carpet. I need to figure out curtains too & bedspreads. I have one doona cover and it’s bugging me, but…

    New house & a poll!

I’ve mentioned in passing that we are moving, the ‘we’ being my parents and I. It’s a bit of a mixed reaction, I am very excited about the move and the fact that the place we are moving to will give me my indipendence with a sort-of granny flat. Sad though, because the house we are moving from is the house I grew up in. I’ve lived here since I was around 4, it has a lot of memories. It is, however WAY to be, it’s tri-level, with a pool, and the stairs are bit too much for my parents as they are getting older. This is the house we…
