Where to eat in Hong Kong (Part Two)

Genki Sushi I went to two different Genki Sushi locations in Hong Kong. Langham Place and Nathan Road. While both locations the food was excellent, I think I preferred the Nathan Road set up more. The Nathan Road seating all have the sushi train which I found SO FUN! You order on a screen and then the food gets delivered straight to you! My favourites were the seared black pepper salmon, seared scallops with garlic butter and the deep fried oysters. Ippudo Ramen Ippudo Ramen is a chain store of resturants specialising in, you guessed it, ramen! We went to the Langham Place store twice and honestly, I’ve been dreaming…

Where to eat in Hong Kong (Part One)

Fooood! When I asked on Instagram what things people would like to hear about from my Hong Kong trip, I got many responses of FOOD. I know I did a dedicated post to Lung King Heen, it deserved a post all of its own. For the rest, I’m breaking it up over two posts. Just thinking about writing these posts has my tummy rumbling and wishing I could go back already! Harbourside TYPE: Buffet LOCATION: The Intercontinental  I’ve been to a few buffets in my life and let’s just say they all paled in comparison compared to Harbourside. If you are a lover of seafood, this place is a MUST. Fresh lobster,…

    Food – Lung King Heen

You probably know by now that I quite enjoy food. Since moving to Melbourne my world has been blown with all the new amazing food i’ve tried. I admit, part of the reason why I wanted to visit Hong Kong was because of the food. So, of course, I had to go Lung King Heen. A restaurant that has held its Michelin three-star rating for ten years! When we arrived we were seated and the view was amazing! Lung King Heen is in the Four Seasons hotel on Hong Kong Island looking over Victoria Harbour. We decided on the Chef’s tasting menu to try a good selection on much loved…

    Food – Okami Japanese Restaurant

On the weekend I went to my first Japanese restaurant! While i’ve eaten Japanese food previously, I’ve never been to a dedicated restaurant. I went to the Caulfield branch of Okami for their all you can eat and long story short, I was impressed! It’s not how I picture an ‘All you can eat’ restaurant. It’s a sit-down restaurant where you get served by waitresses, who take your order and deliver your food. You just keep on ordering how much you want. It’s $32.80pp and it was well worth it. I went with a friend and we had so many dishes. So many. In fact, we loved the beef carpaccio so much we ended…

Food – The Black Toro – Glen Waverley

Oh hey! Long time no see! I will probably have a post soon enough to try and explain my absence, but for now, I’m here to talk food. Yummy, delicious food. On Christmas Eve I had the pleasure of going out to dinner at The Black Toro. As described by them, a “Hispanic cuisine reworked to a modern Australian palate” The food was simply superb! I find it hard to choose a favourite. The mixture of taste and texture in the beetroot dish was fantastic. I could eat the trout every day. If I HAD to choose though, I  think the lamb would be it. It was so tender and tasty,…
