    Goodbye Emily.

On Tuesday I lost a family member, a sister, a best friend, a precious animal. On Tuesday  our dear Emily passed away and I’m still not sure if I’ve really processed it yet. I’ve not had to deal so close with the loss of an animal so close to me. When Bayley passed away I cried and cried, but I was in Adelaide and away from it all, not right in the thick of it. I walk out of my room and expect to have to step over her, but like a punch to the gut I remember, she’s not here. It was somewhat expected. She’s not been well for, well, nearly all…

    Welcoming Betsy!

I’d like to take a moment to introduce everyone to the newest member of our family, Betsy! My parents adopted their dog Emily nearly 3 years ago. She came to my parents scared, timid and in bad condition. She needed teeth removed, her coat tended too and a great deal of love. She was a breeder dog and once used up, was sent off for adoption. I’m so thankful my parents found her and nurtured her. Sadly, she isn’t the healthiest of dogs, like a lot of Cavis, she has heart problems. Emily and Betsy, on Mums lap in the car on the way home. Emily is a different dog around other Cavaliers,…

    Tonka

My animals are my babies, and I just have to say, I feel so thankful for Tonka coming into my life. Sure, he’s frustrating. He is an escape artist, he learns pretty quickly how to open doors and even how to undo some locks. He is forever talking, I could have full conversations with him, but I don’t know if either of us understand each other. Sometimes I swear he says ‘Mum’ or ‘No’. My Mum & I, along with Frodo, Tonka & Emily went and camped out at our new place to get some painting done. It was the first time Tonka had been to #thedarlingden, but he settled…

    Emily!

I talk about Frodo and Tonka non stop, but I don’t mention Emily often. After taking these photos of her today, I figured i’d show them off. I’ve been busy packing as part 1 of the move happens Monday. It’s crazy, stressful and I’ve come to he conclusion, I hate moving. Emily is my parents dog, she’s a rescue Cavalier King Charles and I forget how old she is, 6? She had a pretty rough life before my parents adopted her, but she’s living it up like a Princess now. You can see the stuck up snobbery in these pictures, yes, she does believe she’s better then everyone else. Do you…

    Cat Update!

If you follow my facebook or Instagram, then you already know just how well Tonka is settling in. He’s adapted better then I could have imagined and I’m thrilled. I’m starting to learn more and more about his personality. He LOVES to talk, he also LOVES to eat. He sleeps under the blankets, cuddled up right next to me. He is a major sook and doesn’t like to be left alone, in fact, he’ll often ‘tell me off’ when I come back in the room. He is a purring machine, loves his scratching post and would probably get at least a bronze medal at gymnastics and high jump if the kitty Olympics existed. Mr…
