Event – Sydney Royal Easter Show
One of the reasons why I headed to Sydney last month was to go to the Sydney Royal Easter Show. I adore it, I’ve been going for as long as I remember. I love looking at all the animals and displays. I went with my Mum and we spent the day exploring. We walked nearly 12km and didn’t see everything, we didn’t even venture anywhere near rides! The Easter Show is held by the Royal Agriculture Society and started in 1823! Revenue generated by the show allows the RAS to invest in agricultural programs, competitions, education, youth and rural NSW. It’s so fascinating walking around and seeing all the animals and food…

Dear Mr Frodo. Four years on.
Dear Mr Frodo, Today marks 4 years since I last held you in my arms. 4 years since I last petted you, since you licked my tears away. It feels like yesterday, yet it feels like 10 years ago. I miss you so much, but it has become easier. Time doesn’t heal all wounds, but it makes them bearable. The main difference now is Tonky is with you. I don’t really believe in life after death for humans, but for some reason, the thought of you and Tonka being over the rainbow bridge together comforts me. Hopefully, Bayley, Emily, Betsy, Prince, King, Billy and all my other babies (and fur siblings) are…

Anatolian Champion Show of 2017
Friday was the 2017 Anatolian Champion Show. If you’ve followed me for awhile you already know how much I love animals, dogs in particular and especially the Anatolian Shepherd. This is the 4th year i’ve been, you can see previous years on the blog too. I headed out to the local camp the Thursday night, people come in from around Victoria and even interstate and most stay at a camp ground out near the event. Gunner (Takas Gungadin) and Jicky. These guys are litter mates and hadn’t seen each other since they went their separate ways as puppies. They must have some sort of memory though because they became fast…

Event – Melbourne Show
Last Saturday I had the pleasure of attending my second Royal Melbourne Show. Yet again, I went with my friends Hayley and Zanthi. It seems to be the only time we catch up, but I always have such a great time hanging out with them. You can read a bit about last years adventures HERE. First up, the vlog. It’s a little hard to explain how fun the show is, so I decided to share it all with you as a vlog. I’ve been asked for more video content, I’m so awkward, but I tried! The show is ultimately an agriculture show that started 162 years ago. I grew up…

Goodbye Tonka
This is so hard to write. So so so hard. Last night, on Mothers Day, I made the hard decision to have my little man put to sleep. It was heartbreaking, and to say I’m absolutely gutted is an understatement. 12/08/2010 – 14/05/2017 If you follow the blog on facebook or Instagram, you’ll know that Tonka has been unwell. Just over a month ago, we took him for some tests as he was losing weight and vomiting more than normal. We were thinking maybe thyroid issues or diabetes. What it confirmed was unexpected. Kidney disease. He spent a few days at the vets, on fluids, started on a new diet and medication. The…
