The Darling Den – My Bedroom!

The power of dodgy photoshop! Above is a little mock up of how I DREAM my bedroom shall look. This is what the listing picture looks like. My main colours will be white, black and silver. I’ve been debating between pink or aqua accent colours. The far wall will be a feature black & white striped wall, with a super huge photo of Frodo and I. The rest will be white. I’m going to see about silver paint to do the trimmings. I’m not sure what will be happening with the carpet. I need to figure out curtains too & bedspreads. I have one doona cover and it’s bugging me, but it’ll do for now.

Yes, I have named my living space. My online alias for many, many years, was Natatree Darling, so my new house shall now be known as ‘The Darling Den’. I’ll be sure to add that to all headers that talk about my new place! I was rather overwhelmed with how many people voted yes in the poll I did!

 I’m hoping to have wall units/ book cases down the left side of my room. I have a few cheap wall units that I plan to paint white, which will probably have to suffice for now, unless I find something cheap on ebay or at an Op shop. Eventually i’ll probably slowly collect the Ikea Billy bookcases. I have A LOT of stuff, so I want to have heaps of storage options both in the bedroom and the main room. The Billy bookcases also give me the option of getting doors to keep things looking a little tidier. 

When I left Adelaide, I left the majority of my furniture. My lounge, dining setting, tv unit, coffee tables. Basically, I took my bed and a couple of book cases, so I’ll be making do with what I’ve got, picking stuff up cheap and slowing adding some key pieces.

Down the right side, i’d like a mirrored table/buffet to sit under the window. Above is the Twilight mirrored cabinet from Domayne [HERE] but it’s out of my price range at $1,699.00! Harvey Norman had similar mirrored items in their catalogue, which i’ve kept, but can’t find online. You can see them in action [HERE]. I’m thinking maybe one of the chest of draws/dresser from HN as they are around $800 and I could pay it off with their interest free terms. I’d love the matching bedside tables too, but again, the bedsides are like $500 each. Otherwise maybe the Aneboda from Ikea or Soho from Fantastic Furniture. I may also just keep an eye on ebay, pick up something cheap, paint it white and add some amazing handles, like any of THESE. OWL KNOBS!

 I also love THIS light from UK store Bombay Duck, it’s fun and crazy, but it’s so me! I don’t know if it would be adaptable to fit Australian lights.

But first, I need to figure out, WHAT PAINT BRAND DO I USE!?
