A case of the blogger doubts

I feel weird calling myself a ‘blogger’. I’m never going to be a highly successful blogger, I can’t shmooze. I’m shy and awkward in person, I don’t have the confidence that you need to shine in person. I like to do my work behind a computer screen, I like to sit back and observe, I’m not the life of a party. I feel weird contacting companies, I tend to let them come to me, which isn’t really the way with blogging. I don’t usually compare myself to other bloggers, I don’t check my stats daily & I’m usually pretty happy just doing my own thing. Though with this depression having been set…

Welcome to the new XL as Life!

I had made previous mentions that Extra Large as Life was getting some work done behind the scenes, and now finally, I can show you the in front of scenes newness! I’d been wanting to update the blog design for a while and figured the start of 2013 would make the perfect time, only, my muse could not figure out a header design, so I commissioned the ever so wonderful Lauren Carney to help out. Navabi Curvy Blog Award

You’ve probably noticed these round little badges popping up on some of your favourite plus size blogs. Why? Voting has recently started for the Curvy Blog Award, hosted by Navabi. I honestly don’t think I’d ever make it in to the top 10, but I figured I’d give it a try, as it’s such an amazing opportunity. The top 10 participants get put towards a judging panel. The Navabi fashion team, Fashion designer Anna Scholz, VOGUE Curvy editor Elisa D’Ospina and the ever so gorgeous model Fluvia Lacerda. The winner gets to go to London Fashion Week. HOW FANTASTIC IS THAT!? So, if you have a spare minute, i’d LOVE…

    Nuffnang Blogopolis Hangover #nnb2012

Photo credit: Left by Rah – Right by Sugercoatit I’m glad I pushed through things and made it to Nuffnang blogopolis this weekend. I’m glad I shelled out the extra money and stayed in the city. I’m glad that I had awesome room mates in Melissa, Kylie, Lauren & Veronica. I’m glad I was able to meet new people and hopefully form some new friends. I’m glad I went out afterwards. Over all, as you can tell, I’m pretty glad. Well, except for the come down and hangover. I’m not a big drinker, I may have a cider every now & then, but that’s it. With the medication I’m on,…

Of life, death & blogging. (May be triggering)

I often struggle with how much to share on my blog. Everyone has their own idea on what should & shouldn’t be shared. It’s a fine line that I worry about crossing. But why? Isn’t this MY blog? I started this blog for me & it’s grown into what it is today, and I love it. I know I have a mind that over analises things. But I’m an honest person, so why can’t I be honest on my blog when I want to? I guess the main reason is, that I’m scared. The blogging world, while lovely, can be harsh. Owls of Happiness, my friend Lou gave me. They…
