Myself, my grief, Neil Gaiman, Amanda Palmer & the Bushfire Event.

Amanda Palmer knows a thing or two about grief. She’s not one to shy away from it, she lets it if flow from her in any creative way possible. It’s something that I appreciated but had not really connected with until these past 13 months. I love Amanda. I wrote a post about my love of her 9 years ago on this here blog. I’ve seen her numerous times since, including the absolutly heavenly experience of seeing The Dresden Dolls live. It’s up there as one of my all time favourite gigs. Amanda and Brian just make music magic together. I couldn’t afford to go to her recent tour, she…

    My Life Soundtrack – 5ive

I love music, I’m not sure exactly what it is specifically, I just know, that I’d have a hard time living without it. It helps me sleep, it helps drown out my head when I’m having a bad day, it can make me happy & want to dance, it also have the power to make me cry? I’m not a religious person, but I’m sure I’ve mentioned before, I kind of believe in a music hierarchy. David Bowie is my God. Amanda Palmer is my Jesus. And now, I thought I’d open myself up and talk about The Angels. If you know me, you know who I’m about to say,…

    The year in review!

JANUARY – The New Year was spent with my parents staying at my place in Adelaide, they came for Christmas. I really enjoyed having my parents stay, see my house, meet Henry. It was a really happy time for me. FEBRUARY – I learnt even more about cats and fell even more in love with Henry. He was always doing something new and adorable. I also held the first giveaway of the year thanks to Megs Ragged Edge. MARCH – My nephew Caleb visited, so Adam and I took him to the Zoo & the beach to try and keep him occupied. I realised it’s not easy looking after a…

    Quick Pics & Amanda Palmer!

The Evelyn Evelyn & Amanda Palmer concert was AH-MAZING! So so so good! It was held at The Spiegeltent at Adelaide Fringe. This is the first time i’ve gone to the Fringe and it was so much fun! It was like a little fair! Tents with all different performances, food stalls, rides, quaint little stores selling jewellery and henna tattoos! I had a great time!  Evelyn Evelyn were fantastic! Words cannot describe how amazing they are to see live! Certainly would have taken a lot of practice to play instruments like that! I could have watched for another hour! Amanda didn’t disappoint either! The show was only for an hour,…

    An Idol – Amanda Palmer

I don’t remember now when I became a fan of The Dresden Dolls. Years ago, a friend made me a mix CD that had Coin Operated Boy on it, then a few months later whilst waiting for a train with Kylie (We were heading into the city to either see David Bowie or The Horrorpops, I can’t remember now), I heard her singing it. I didn’t own any Dresden Dolls CD’s until I met Adam, who when I mentioned I liked them, went & bought me ‘A is for Accident’ & ‘The Dresden Dolls’. This pretty much started my one sided love affair with Amanda Palmer. I’ve often been told…
