This is 31! Happy birthday to me!

On Wednesday the 7th I celebrated my 31st year of life! Yep, it was my birthday! Originally, I had a trip to Tasmania planned, but as Tonka got sick, I decided to cancel it. One, because I expected him to still be alive and didn’t want to hassle anyone with looking after a cat who had to have a special diet and tablets he hated to take. Two, because the money saved for the holiday went to his vet bills. It was a bit of a sad week, just knowing Tonka isn’t with me, and that I’m not exploring Hobart. It was brightened by a new kitty family member though.…

Where to eat in Ballarat – Meigas – The best Tapas I’ve ever had!

When my BFF and I found out that Ballarat was hosting it’s own White Night (more on that later), we decided to head out country for the night and experience what Ballarat had to offer. We booked an Air BnB and asked the host where they would recommend to eat. We decided on Meigas, a Spanish Resturant with some outstanding looking Tapas. We chose the ‘Feed Me’ option, which basically meant they would keep bringing out plates until you told them to stop. I didn’t take pictures of all the dishes, these are only a handful of, gees, around 13 or 14. We got to a point where we were…

Melbourne Birthday Lunch at Naked for Satan #natatreeturns30

Yesterday I celebrated my 30th birthday early with a scrumptious lunch at Naked for Satan. When I originally decided to do something for my birthday, I was tossing up between lunch, dinner or drinks. In the end, I went with what suited me as a homebody who doesn’t really drink and settled with a Sunday lunch at a place with good food and drinks. EMPANADAS I’d been to Naked for Satan twice before, once for dinner at Naked in the Sky (which is where we had lunch) & for lunch downstairs with their pintxos. Both were delicious previously and I wasn’t let down with yesterdays offerings! GILDAS -WHITE ANCHOVY, OLIVES…

Top 3 places to eat in Hobart.

03 – Jack Greene We didn’t actually eat a main meal, because we were so full on all the other food we’d been eating, but golly the mains looked good! We had the polenta crusted duck & wasabi cheddar arancini balls with a spiced plum dipping sauce and Tempura Huon valley mushrooms with plum & ginger dipping sauce. Seriously, the best mushrooms i’ve had in ages. It was quite crowded but had a great vibe. We sat upstairs in front of a live fire with a masculine woodland library feel. WHERE: 49 salamanca place, Hobart, Tas, 7000 02 – AWU Delicious Chinese I popped in here on the Sunday I arrived and…

    Ambrosia! (NSW – Silverdale)

Earlier in the year my Dad celebrated his 70th birthday. While I was there on the actual day, I wasn’t able to attend the family get together he had to celebrate. Mum found a beautiful restaurant called Ambrosia on an Olive Farm in Silverdale & after eating there, raved on about it. They decided to take me to lunch whilst I was up visiting, and it didn’t disappoint! Of course, I had to have the Oysters as an Entree. Oysters are by far my favourite food, and if they weren’t so expensive, I could have just sat and ate a few dozen of them!! So tasty! I do love plain…
