    Melbourne Roller Derby

When I was down in Melbourne, a couple of awesome friends invited me to come along and see a Roller Derby match. I jumped at the chance. Apart from watching ‘Whip it’ years ago, I didn’t know anything really about Roller Derby. A few people I knew when I was in Adelaide had joined teams, but being such a recluse at that time, I never went to see any games. I’m SO GLAD I went though, cause it’s pretty amazing! I didn’t really understand anything until part way through the 2nd game, even after being given a pamphlet will all the info on it. While it’s a very stop &…

Outfit – I should have been a unicorn!

I have learnt that Melbourne is cold. Now, it’s not as cold as a lot of places in the world get, but it’s colder then Sydney. While I like the cold, i’m finding it a bit hard at times. I’ll admit that. What you don’t see in these pictures, is that I’m wearing my thick Sonsee stockings underneath my jeans. Also, knee high socks and two singlets. Yep. Layers. I ventured into the city today to meet up with Cazz, an awesomesauce blogger who i’ve followed for ages now. I always get a bit shy and nervous about meeting new people, but I shouldn’t have worried. We checked out Daiso…

    Melbourne Zoo – Part Two

Apart from the Elephants, the Butterfly house was my favourite part of the zoo (don’t make me choose between them!). I could have stayed in there for hours! Having them fly around and land on you was magical, though it took a while to get used to the sensation of something touching your hair. Hundreds, maybe thousands(?) of butterflies from small to large, in a rainbow of colours are housed here. Oh, and as it was a cold 12ish degrees outside, the Butterfly House is heated to 28 degrees, so it was a nice place to sit down and warm up! Lucky butterflies! The Lemurs are sooooo cute! You enter Lemur…

    Melbourne Zoo – The Elephants!

The elephant area was UH-MAY-ZING! I don’t remember the last time I had the chance to see an elephant, and the fact that they currently have a baby elephant is even more special. Man Jai, who is now just over 6 months old is utterly hilarious. I had no idea baby elephants were so derpy, but he had everyone in fits of giggles! From running around silly, face planting in the dirt to playing in the water, he wasn’t a shy elephant!  When we arrived one of the larger elephants was fully submerged in the 4.5m deep pool, you could not see a single inch before she popped back above…

Outfit – Melbourne Zoo – What I wore.

As you can see, I didn’t get any really good #ootd pics at the zoo. To be honest, I was too caught up in the animals! My friend quickly snapped the above picture just as we were about to leave! I dressed warm and comfortably! As we arrived at 9:30am, it was still rather chilly. Also, yes, I wore my glasses. You don’t really see them much on my blog, but I am supposed to wear them whenever I leave the house. I often forget, and I usually take them off for my outfit photos anyway.
