Conventions!

I’ve been trying to put into words over the past hour what Conventions mean to me, how they’ve effected my life, but I just can’t seem to find the words to describe how they’ve changed my life. I attended my first convention in March 2004 and since have attended close to 10 more. I’ve met some of my closest friends through these conventions & had experiences that are rather life changing.

Most people believe that conventions are only for geeky nerds who play D&D, but that is definitely not the case. The atmosphere alone is a reason to at least attend one con! It’s also a chance to meet, get a photo & hear talks from ‘Celebrities’ that you admire.

This month I attended the Sydney Stargate Convention, held by The Hub Productions and got to meet  a load of actors from many of the Stargate series. My favourite of course being none other then Richard Dean Anderson! When I was younger my Dad and I used to watch McGyver, so he was ecstatic when I brought him home a RDA auto!
