Belle Curve at Target + giveaway!

targetbellecurve00

I was recently invited to a bloggers viewing of a new plus size range Belle Curve launching at Target. I’ve always loved Target but apart from one time in the past, I found their plus size range lacking, while it worked for some people, as a 20 something girl into fashion I always found it underwhelming, especially when surrounded by some of the amazing pieces available in straight sizes.

targetbellecurve01Top – BelleCurve Kaleidoscope Maxi in size 22. It was a bit big and I could have easily sized down to a 20. Worn with a belt borrowed from the Zoe pants. Above – Outfit which you can see in my previous post, worn with the Shine Bright Shrug in a size 20

The first thing that caught my eye was the Shine Bright Shrug. Helllloooo sequins! The major winning factor of it was the pattern, it wasn’t just straight sequins, they were placed in an intricate swirl pattern.

The first release is 14 pieces and does feature a good deal of sequins, which for me, is a win, and while it does feature a fair amount of black, they’ve thrown in an amazing kaleidoscope print. I also love that most of the pieces work that you can dress them up or down.

With Belle Curve Ambassodor Fiona Faulkner. I have to say that not only is she absolutely stunning, but so friendly! Photo on the left is stolen from Caitlins Instagram. The middle photo I’m wearing the Isabella Lurex top.

I only tried on two of the outfits (plus the shrug). I went with the Isabella Lurex top (size 20) & Dazzle Me pencil skirt (size 22). I found the sizing rather large. The Isabella top is supposed to be oversized but it was nearly tunic length on me (perfect for leggings!) but needed to be tucked in to the skirt. I really fell in love with the shirt though.

The second outfit I tried on was something out of my comfort zone, and that was the Kaleidoscope maxi dress (size 22). Again, I found the sizing ran a little large and I would have been better in a size 20. I loved how the slip underneath only goes to the knee and that there is a split on one side. While I still have some issues with my flabby upper arms, I really loved the long sleeve/ strap combo. The print is what made it for me. While I don’t wear maxis often, I feel this is one that I would actually wear regularly. targetbellecurve002

Two other standout pieces for me were the Kaleidoscope body con dress and the Glamourous sequin dress.

The prices, to me, were reasonable, with everything in this current collection under $80. Which fits in around the pricing of a lot of the straight sized range of Target clothing.

On the way home from the event, I stopped by my local Target (Penrith) and they had all stock bar the bolero. Yes, I caved and picked up the Isabella Lurex top for myself.

We also got a sneak peak of the image board for the ‘Summer Adventure’ collection, and well, I AM EXCITED! Look at that striped body con dress! Look at that zippered origami like skirt!
