Of Hospitals & Back Pain!

So, I managed to do grocery shopping on Friday. Very slowly. However, when I got home, I managed to hurt my back even further. Joy of all joys. In fact, I couldn’t move. In fact, my in-laws had to call an ambulance. I think this is the first time I’ve been a patient in an ambulance (Is it bad that I can’t remember if I’ve been in one before?). When the ambos arrived I was given this amazing green whistle type instrument that you breath through called a ‘Penthrox Inhaler’ & boy was that good!

I have to say, I think Modbury Hospital has a good Emergency Room. I’ve visited many ERs over the years & I found the nurses very helpful & the doctor kind & considerate. My nurse Lisa was wonderful. I ended up being there for around 5 hours before being released. They believe that it was a muscle seizure & I was given panadeine, valium & another different pain killer/ muscle relaxant.

I was also pleasantly surprised by the hospital food! I’d mentioned to my Nurse that I was supposed to take my tablets for my mental illness with my dinner around 6 o’clock. As soon as she had the all clear from the doctor, she hunted down a pack of sandwiches for me! I liked that each quarter was a different filling. Roast beef & tomato. Chicken, lettuce & cucumber. Tuna, tomato & lettuce, as well as curried egg.

My MIL bought me these gorgeous presents! The silver ring with purple stone & the pretty pink stoned heart drop earrings! <3

I managed to go to the doctors today to get my X-ray results (and more pain killers). I’ve managed to twist my spine, but otherwise my spine if fine & healthy, I do have some bad soft tissue damage. I shall be having to get some physio done.
