Our philosophy is to celebrate the curves of women’s bodies, accentuate the positive, and empower curvy women to hold their heads proudly, and feel worthy of fashion. In September 09, TCD lead the way for change in the NZ Fashion industry by being the first ever “plus size” label invited to show at New Zealand Fashion Week.

I could easily spend a gazillion $$$ at TCD. The thing I love about this label is it’s vast range and versatility. Yes, it features a lot of layering pieces, but the fabrics & colours they choose can easily make outfits for any person. I could take 3 generations of family in & i’m sure we could all walk away with something we loved. Some of the pictures on facebook just show how a little imagination can go so far!

Yes, the pricing is a little steep in some regards, but in all honesty, I found a lot on NZ plus size fashion to be more expencive.  This quality is high quality though, and it’s something that is more of an investment to last a lifetime.

TAPERED MIA DRESS – NZ$110.00 (About $90au) – A long sleeved Fitting dress. A fitting style that falls above the knee with a soft round neckline. Created in a striking shiny Fabric. 

SOPHIA DRESS – NZ$110.00 (About $90au) – A classic shift dress with darts at the waist and Single button key hole closing at back. The wide straps and neckline on the Sophia dress is a flattering fit for a fuller bossom. (Also available in Copper Sequin)

ANGEL TOP – NZ$135.00 (About $110au) – 100% silk. This long flowing top has extra long armholes which creates a beautiful draped sleeve and there is plenty of drape in front and back. (Also available in Red)

JOAN OF ARC HOOD – NZ$165 (About $130au) – This is an oversized item, featuring a racer back and hood. It also has a long line, zip opening, and works well as a layering item. (Also available in Orange, Black, White & Stripe. Though at different prices)

LONG SLEEVE FISHNET CROP – NZ$215.00 (Around $170au) – The Crop top as been design with a wide boat neck, slouchy style at back with a delicate ribbon tie across the shoulders. A great piece for layering piece.

FAUX FUR VEST – RED – BLACK – NZ$135.00 (Around $110au) A black fur vest lined.

VENICE APRON – BLACK – GREY – PURPLE – PRINT –  NZ$85.00 (About $70au) This is a light weight layering item, which can be worn multiple ways. Use the images for ways of styling or get creative and find your own way to dress it.

By far my favourite NZ label, next time I am over I plan to visit a store and pick up a thing or two. I’ll start saving now! What is your favourite item!?
